CELBAN Prep Course

CELBAN or Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses is a professional language exam to assess the English proficiency of nurses who have studied outside Canada. The test-takers are evaluated in four key English language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. CELBAN is recognized as an acceptable way to demonstrate your proficiency in English by nursing regulatory bodies across Canada.

Prepare for CELBAN

This preparation course is a set of practice material aimed at helping those interested in studying, or re-qualifying for, the field of nursing, to practice language skills as they are used in Canadian nursing and in the Canadian nursing English exam, CELBAN. The course progresses from preliminary material practicing each of the four language skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) to full practice tests for each language skill.

This course is a largely self-paced and self-directed, as students work through the material at a speed which is comfortable to them, though you can ask the instructor questions at any time. However, live online sessions are included in which the student practices Speaking tasks and tests with an instructor and receives feedback, and students also write and submit, then receive feedback upon, practice Writing tasks. For better results, we suggest that students should have access to a printer as many of the practice documents should be printed out and worked on as paper-based test material.
